8 Tracks - Men’s Circle

Music as an emotional bridge

Most men don’t struggle because they don’t feel.

They struggle because they were never taught how to name what they feel.

8Tracks is a facilitated men’s circle that uses music to reconnect men with emotion — gently, honestly, and without performance.

  • 8 men

  • 8 tracks each (shared over 8 sessions)

  • 8 sessions, 90 minutes

  • A shared journey into emotional literacy and listening

No application. Just book. Spaces intentionally limited to 8.

Why This Exists

Many men live largely in their heads.

We analyse, rationalise, and explain — often as a way of distancing ourselves from what we actually feel. Over time, emotion gets flattened into a narrow range: “fine,” “angry,” or “tired.”

Music offers a different way in.

It bypasses analysis and goes straight to the nervous system — stirring memory, emotion, and meaning before words are available. 8Tracks exists to create a safe, structured space where men can feel first, then find language — and learn to listen deeply, to themselves and to others.

What 8Tracks Is

8Tracks is a small, closed men’s circle where:

  • 8 men commit to a shared journey

  • We meet for 8 sessions, each 90 minutes

  • Sessions run every two weeks

  • Each man brings 8 pieces of music that matter to him

In every session, we listen to:

  • One opening track I choose to set the tone

  • One track from each man

That means 9 tracks in 90 minutes — held with care, reflection, and presence.

This rhythm allows everyone to be heard every time, and supports the development of active listening as much as self-expression.

How a Session Works

Each session follows a simple, held structure:

1. Arrival and brief grounding

2. An opening track to settle the room

3. Listening to one track from each man

4. After each track, the person who brought it shares, guided by prompts such as:

• Why did you choose this track?
• What memories does it hold?
• What does it stir in your body?
• What emotional chords does it pluck?
• What part of you does this music speak to?

5. The group reflects with active listening and witnessing — no fixing, no advice, no interpretation

6. Closing reflection and a gentle integration prompt

Silence is welcome. Listening is valued as much as speaking.

What You’ll Leave With

Men who complete 8Tracks often leave with:

• A richer emotional vocabulary

• Greater ability to name what’s happening internally

• Less shame around feeling

• Stronger active listening skills

• More ease being present with other people’s emotions

• Deeper, more honest connection with other men

• A renewed relationship with music — and with themselves

Not dramatic transformation.

Just quiet, meaningful shifts that last.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be good at talking about my feelings?

Is this therapy?

No. It’s a facilitated men’s circle, focused on emotional literacy and listening — not diagnosis or treatment.

Do I need to know a lot about music?

Not at all. If a track matters to you, it belongs.

How much will I be expected to speak?

Only as much as feels right. Listening is just as important.

What if I miss a session?

You’re welcome back the following session. Sessions aren’t recorded to protect confidentiality.

Can this be bought as a gift?

Yes — gift vouchers are available.
